A day of real BBQ ribs, homemade rub, smoked and all…#foodporn

Today was hubby's day to make ribs (his idea). The real way. Smoked, then grilled. It took many hours, between making the rub, making the sauce (which cooked for hours), smoking the ribs in a Cameron smoker (on the grill (using Cameron applewood and hickory chips), then grilling. I made the coleslaw and sat back and enjoyed the ride :) I highly recommend that smoker!

Salmon in Wonton – snack size #gourmet #foodporn

What to have for a light lunch or for wine and cheese hour(s)? I bought a fresh piece of salmon and wonton wrappers. I made a homemade Boursin type cheese by mixing softened cream cheese with chopped garlic, chives, parsley and a touch of homemade basil pesto and put a dollop on the center of each wonton square. I placed a few small pieces of salmon atop each mound, sprinkled coarsely cracked pepper and smoked sea salt, wet the edges and crimped. I baked them at 350 for about 10 minutes, until the edges were browned and the wonton skins crisp. Perfect with an afternoon cocktail! And it took 15 minutes to pull together…

Brunch at the parents house, a touch of #foodporn…

We had Egg Nog French Toast with blackberries, red raspberries and golden raspberries, maple syrup, Frittata with tomatoes, caramelized onions and cheddar, bagels with whitefish salad and smoked salmon and chocolate cake and chocolate almond toffee for dessert (as if we needed it after the French toast)
